Day 1B of the $1 million guaranteed WPTDeepStacks Main Event took place on October 17. It attracted 317 partypoker players to the virtual felt, including 100 who won their seats via the latest Mega Satellite. Only 48 of those starters made it through to Day 2, and nobody bagged up more chips than Sweden’s Henning Andre.
Andre finished his flight with 3,919,128 chips, enough for the Day 1B chip lead and third overall with two flights remaining. Only Day 1A chip leader Michael Sklenicka (4,688,721) and Ramiro Petrone (4,275,095) have more chips than Andre presently.
Some 19 of the 100 x $1,100 WPTDeepStacks Main Event Mega Sat winners made it safely through to the tournament’s Day 2, each doing so safe in the knowledge they will receive at least a min-cash.
Paul Vas Nunes was one of those 19 players, but he has his sights set far higher than a minimum payout because he returns to the action on Day 2 with an impressive stack of 3,512,438 chips.
Three other Mega Sat winners ended their Day 1B flight with top ten stacks. Manuel Koschmieder (3,295,223), Florian Loehnert (3,168,712), and Thomas Hueber (3,050,650) being that big stacked trio.
